Gunnar Seidel, born 1982 in Bremerhaven, is a freelance actor, performer and director, living in Nuremberg. He works nationwide in independent projects as well as at municipal and state theatres. After a European voluntary service in Genoa, Italy, he studied general rhetoric in Tübingen from 2002 - 2003 and acting at the Hanover University of Music and Drama from 2003 - 2007. During his studies he realised his first production, performed at the Schauspielhaus Hannover and in Hamburg in projects by Nina Mattenklotz and Felix Rothenhäusler. From 2007 to 2010 he was permanently engaged at the Stadttheater Gießen, where he also realised projects with schoolchildren and the Jugendclub Gießen.
After this engagement and an internship with Michael Thalheimer at Schauspiel Frankfurt in 2011, he performed as an actor at Theater Aalen, Stadttheater Gießen, Theater Paderborn, Staatstheater Kassel and in productions with Ana Zirner (satellit produktion, Munich) and Playground Disaster Inc. (Nuremberg). Since 2015 he has also been working regularly with the performance collective Pandora Pop (Munich) and in independent productions at the Tafelhalle Nuremberg - both as actor and director - including the dance pieces "Tabula Rasa", "Trigger", "Morph!" and "Phantom Zone" with choreographer Alexandra Rauh.
Since autumn 2017 Gunnar Seidel is also a lecturer for scenic-dramatic lessons at the Nuremberg University of Music, Faculty of Singing / Music Theatre.
