It means: burnt out.
Like a candle that is finished.
Other people have no work.
This also makes people sick.

Some people have two jobs.
Even then, the money is not enough.

The play shows these differences.
It also asks:
Is salary only money?
Or is it something more?

The artists went to different countries.
For example in Germany.
And in other countries too.
