Noise of a Summer

Noise of a Summer

There is an audio walk.
It is about the Documenta in Kassel.

The project is called: Noise of a Summer.

It is an audio walk.
People walk through the city.
They hear voices and sounds through headphones.

The project is about the Documenta in Kassel.

What is it about in general?

The project looks back at one summer.
In this summer, the Documenta took place in Kassel.

The Documenta is an important exhibition.
It is the largest art exhibition in the world.

The city was full of people and art.
After the summer, it becomes quieter.
People think about this time.

What is it about exactly?

Visitors walk along a route.
The route goes from the Documenta Hall
to the Huguenot House.

On the way, they hear audio pieces.
The voices appear and disappear again.
They remind people of the past summer.

The sounds feel like echoes.
They tell about moods and feelings.
The city has changed.

In this way, people can
experience the Documenta summer again.
And think about it.

The opening was in 2012.
The place was Kassel.

The concept was by
Gunnar Seidel
and Lukas Thiele.

Contributors were
Dominik Breuer
and other speakers.

The project was supported
by the City of Kassel.
