Media Magica

There is theatre play about the topic media.

Media are, for example:
• television
• newspapers
• the internet

You can see the internet on your phone.
Or on your computer.
The theatre play is very magical.
There are wizards.
There are monsters.
There is magic.

The story takes place in today’s world.
But it looks like a storybook fairy tale.

What is it about in general?

MEDIA MAGICA is a project.
The project asks questions:

Can we trust media?
Can we trust our own perception?

Perception means:
How you see something.
How you understand something.

Many people see the same thing.
But they think differently about it.
They understand it in different ways.
This is called perception.

The project has music.
The project has adventures.
The project has magic.

What is it about exactly?

In the story there is a place.
The place is called “Net.”
“Net” is English and means network.
It means the internet.

In Net, information is very important.
Knowledge is very valuable.

A group of wizards watches over the people.
They are called:
The High Council of Media Magicians.

But there is a big danger.

Dark and evil creatures confuse the people.
They lie.
They give false answers.
They distract people from important things.

Many people believe these lies.
So there are more and more false messages.
People forget important things.
This is very dangerous for the people of Net.

The High Council sends out a group.
They are Media Magicians.
They are brave.
They are strong.

They must find a special object.
It is called the Media Magica.

The Media Magica is very powerful.
With this power, the Media Magicians want to help.
They want to stop the evil.

Net should become safe again.
Net should become peaceful again.
There should be no more lies.

The project is a cooperation.
The Bruchwerk Theatre takes part.
The Brachland Ensemble also takes part.

At the beginning, a character says:

Hello.
You are the new applicants.
Good to see you.
Please come in.
Do not be afraid.
Make yourselves comfortable.
You may eat the troll buns.
They taste very good.
