Humanotop 2.0

The project is an audio walk.

Audio walk is an English word.
It means:
A listening walk.
People walk through the city.
They hear voices and sounds through headphones.

The project is participatory.
Participatory means:
The audience takes part.
The project is from the Brachland Ensemble.
It is based on the project Humanotop.
Humanotop was created together with scientists.

What is it about in general?

The project asks about the future.

What will life in the city be like?
Participants should learn to think in new ways.

Scientific data helps with this.

Participants hear texts and sounds.
They walk through the city.
They talk with each other.
They play together.

What is it about exactly?

There is a thinking game.
It works like this:

There are problems.
Time is very short.

For example:
Environmental problems.
These are problems in nature:
animals and plants.
And social problems.
These are problems between people.

Researchers from the future arrive.
They know:
You will solve all problems.
But they do not know how you will do it.

They want to find out.

They need help.
Your help.
And help from others.

The audience works together
with the performers.

Scenes and conversations appear.
There are games
and the audio walk.

This creates a picture of the future.
Participants look at their city in a new way.
They now have new ideas.

Important questions appear:
Who were we in the past?
Who are we today?
Who do we want to be in the future?

Dominik Breuer.

Mariann Yar or Miriam Schollmeyer,
and Dominik Breuer.

The dramaturgy was by
Gunnar Seidel.

Scientific advice came from experts
from universities in Aachen, Brussels, and Münster.
The production was by Julia Opitz.
Stage and costumes were by Maria Pfeiffer.
The music was by Jan Pfitzer.

The project was created
with many partners.
For example Theatre Aachen
and several education and culture institutions.

The project received funding.
For example from
the State of North Rhine-Westphalia
and the Federal Agency for Civic Education.
