Socio-cultural is a difficult word.
It means:
It is about people.
Between people is the culture.
Culture is everything people do.
For example:
Theatre.
Music.
Films.
Festivals.
Culture is also about
how people live together.
In this project, there is a film competition.
The project takes place in Siegburg.
The project deals with important problems.
Problems in the city.
It asks:
Where are there difficulties in living together?
Where are there good ideas?
It is about young people.
They should have a say.
They should help shape things.
In Siegburg, there are many young people.
Many of them care about the climate.
About nature and the environment.
The young people join Fridays for Future.
Fridays for Future is an action.
Once a month, young people meet.
They walk through the city.
They share their opinions.
They say to adults:
Save the Earth.
Take care of the problems.
We want a future for everyone.
The City of Siegburg wants to support this.
The Brachland Ensemble does workshops.
There are talks and joint activities.
The young people bring their ideas.
Their ideas are taken seriously.
The ideas become new projects.
The goal is:
To support young people.
They take responsibility.
They learn:
We can help shape our city.
At the end, there is a film competition.
The results of the work are shown.
The concept was by
Dominik Breuer,
Maria Isabel Hagen,
and Gunnar Seidel.
The project was created
in cooperation with the City of Siegburg.
