The project is called: Things Around Us.
It is a performance.
There is spoken text and music.
Several people stand on stage.
The project looks at things.
Things from everyday life.
For example:
Things we like.
Or things we use every day.
The project asks:
Which things are important to us?
Which things do we really need?
There are three people on stage.
A band also plays music.
The band is from Kassel.
Kassel is a city in the state of Hesse.
The texts in the play come from surveys.
Many people were asked questions.
For example:
What are your favorite things?
Which things can you not live without?
The artists also collected their own things.
They wrote lists.
From these lists, the play was created.
In the play, things are named.
The performers read the lists.
They play with the words.
The musicians join in.
They make songs from the things.
The audience listens.
And thinks about things.
About what we own.
And what things mean.
About life.
The first performance was in 2015.
The place was Kassel.
The concept and direction were by
Gunnar Seidel.
On stage were
several performers and musicians.
The project was supported by
