You hear voices and sounds.

The story is real.

The project is about human rights.
It is about freedom.
It is also about violence.
And it is about the state.

The project shows:
What happens
when a state is afraid.

The project looks back at
September 11, 2001.

On this day,
something terrible happened
in the USA.

U. S. A. means:
United States of America.
People also say:
America.

After September 11,
many things changed.

The government of the USA
arrested people.
The people were sent to prison right away.
Without a judge.
Some people were tortured.

Torture means:
People are hurt.
In their body.
And in their mind.
This is forbidden.

An official report
recorded these crimes.
The report was about the secret service CIA.

The C. I. A. is a secret service of the USA.

This report is the basis
for the audio play.

Three speakers
read and perform the text.
There are only a few objects on stage.

This helps the audience
to understand the text better.
The audience should listen.
And think about it.

The first performance was in 2016.
The place was Kassel.

The text and direction were by
Dominik Breuer.
The dramaturgy was by
Gunnar Seidel.

The project was created
together with Amnesty International.
It was supported
by cities and foundations.

The project received a prize
at the Hessian Theatre Days 2017.
