The Beginning

The Beginning

There is a new live theatre show.
The show is like a science-fiction film.

Science fiction means:
It is made up.
It is not real.
But it could be real one day.
In the future.

The show is made together with Lebenshilfe Nürnberg.
The Kulturwerkstatt auf AEG also takes part.
The Brachland Ensemble leads the project.

What is it about in general?

The project is for all people.
That means: people with and without disabilities can join.

The project mixes acting and film.

The project asks:
Can life on another planet work?
Do we maybe need to live on another planet one day?

Inclusion is important.
Inclusion means: everyone belongs.

What is it about exactly?

The ensemble of THE BEGINNING worked for a very long time.
They worked for more than two and a half years.
They researched.
They improvised.
They filmed.
They created many scenes.

The scenes show different moments.
For example:
• the evening before the end of the world
• the flight in a small spaceship
• life on another planet

People of different ages work on stage.
Everyone works together as professionals.
Everyone works together in an inclusive way.

On stage you can see the film set.
You can see the film team and the cameras.
The scenes are filmed live.
You can see everything on a big screen.

The audience listens with wireless headphones.
There are many sounds and music.

You see the actors changing costumes.
You hear what they think.
They talk about worries.
They talk about ideas for the future.

They also talk about problems in daily life.
For example: playgrounds without ramps.
People in wheelchairs cannot use these places well.

The theatre show has many exciting moments.
A young girl is very sad.
A man builds a space capsule.
A woman pushes an empty stroller in the dark.
Another woman sits alone in a wheelchair.

The actors ask:
How is the world doing?

Politicians argue.
Scientists build a spaceship.
People on Earth need many space suits.
Some people will leave the Earth.
They will fly to another planet.

The first show was on 9 May 2025.
It took place in the Kulturwerkstatt auf AEG, in the large hall.
The performance lasts about 65 minutes.

Many people act on stage.
Many people work behind the stage.

The project is a cooperation:
• Brachland Ensemble
• Lebenshilfe Nürnberg
• Kulturwerkstatt auf AEG

Aktion Mensch supports the project with money.
The City of Nuremberg and several foundations also help.
